Indications

Following conditions are indications for patients undergoing CT evaluation.

Cardiac Mass

Since the entire heart is covered during a single scan, intracardiac masses, such as tumors or thrombus, are easily detected.

Congenital Heart Disease

Because of the high spatial resolution of cardiac CT, the pericardium and associated pathology is well seen.

Coronary Artery Disease

Pericardial Disease

Because of the high spatial resolution of cardiac CT, the pericardium and associated pathology is well seen.

Thoracic Aortic Disease

Valvular Disease

Calcification or vegetations can be visualized on valve leaflets and cine images can depict valve motion.

Heart failure

  • Coronary artery calcium scoring
  • Coronary artery disease
    • Pre-op evaluation
    • As alternative to cateterization in appropriate clinical setting
    • Heart failure (implanted device)
    • Cardiac mass/pericardial disease
      • Evaluation of calcification
