Visiting fellowship
The Departments of Radiology and Cardiology at Northwestern University in Chicago are currently offering one week to three month visiting fellowships in cardiovascular MRI. There are currently 15-20 cardiac MRI studies and 15-20 vascular MR studies performed weekly at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Visiting fellows will be able to observe and discuss clinical cardiovascular MRI cases, as they occur.
There are daily afternoon readout sessions comprised of physicians from cardiology and radiology. In addition, fellows will have access to the cardiac MRI teaching file, which may be reviewed during quiet periods. Fellows will receive structured didactic teaching on technical and clinical aspects of cardiovascular MRI. There are weekly cardiac cath conferences and monthly cardiac MRI conferences which they may attend as well. Fellows will get experience with hands-on scanning in our dedicated cardiovascular MRI research facility and also with the virtual scanning console. Visiting fellows are expected to keep a logbook of cases and at the end of the program will receive a letter specifying the number of cases performed and observed and the amount of time spent doing cardiovascular MRI. The visiting professorship program is open to radiologists, cardiologists and technologists wishing to gain more experience with technical and clinical aspects of cardiovascular MRI.
