History
- 27 year old girl
- 3/12 hx of progresive symptoms of heart failure
Findings

Diagnosis
Left ventricular non-compaction
- Cardiomyopathy: Deep trabeculations in the ventricular wall that define recesses that communicate with the main chamber
- Systolic and diastolic failure, arrythmiaas, embolic events
- The incidence is not well known. About 0.17 per 100,000? Rare. First described in a case series 1990 ago
- Arrest of normal compaction of the loose interwoven myocardial fibers in the embryo
- Non-compacted :compaxcted myocardial thickness >2:1
Treatment
- Aspirin
- Manage heart failure or arrhythmias
- Cardiac transplantation
